UI/UX Service Designer 

A large government department is seeking a highly skilled UI/UX Service Designer with demonstrable experience to engage in a contract role based in Canberra, through until the end of this financial year in 2018. You will be someone who works well in a collaborative environment, with a goal-orientated mindset.

You will have at least 5+ years experience in:
  1. Service Design
  2. User Experience (UX)
  3. User Research
  4. Experience in with the following:
    1. Ethnographic research
    2. Interviews
    3. Blueprints
    4. Personas
    5. User Stories
    6. Journey Maps
    7. Card Sorting
    8. Prototyping
    9. Wireframing
    10. Workshops
  5. Establishing and managing User Centred Design frameworks and standards, including guidance material.

The purpose of your role is to:
  • Help lead building Service Design capability within the Department
  • Take a lead role in service design activities within the Department, including for digital transformation initiatives
  • Help the Department meet the requirements from the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA), including the Digital Service Standard
  • Help produce service design artefacts, including service blueprints, journey maps and roadmaps
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards, including helping set the direction of the Departments user centred design framework
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction.
