Due to significant business growth, we are seeking an experienced UX Researcher to join a fast paced and dynamic Digital Technology Team, based in Sydney's CBD.

The role:
  • The primary role of the UX Researcher is to support the User Centred Design Practice, mainly via contributing to both our User Testing program but also some strategic longer-term research pieces.  
  • You will work closely with the UX Team (both design and research staff) and digital product, as well as across cross-functional teams to contribute to the generation of actionable insights as part of the user-centred design process.
  • This will require you to contribute (under direction of other research staff) to the management, planning and logistical execution, of various types of user research.
  • You will also be expected to contribute to the sharing of insights from user research activities to the UX & Product teams and wider business. 

Key skills and experiences:
  • 3+ years' relevant UX research experience and/or experience with human/user centred design
  • A relevant bachelor's degree (i.e. Psychology, Human-Centred Design, Digital Technology/design etc.) or completion of course on user-centred design
  • Demonstrated research aptitude and enthusiasm to learn combined with a genuine love for digital products, people, the user-centred design process and user experience.
  • High level understanding of agile software development practice would be beneficial
  • Ability to build rapport with users to effectively build empathy and understanding while contributing to the research process
  • Experience taking research data into actionable insights
  • Qualitative and quantitative: Some previous experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Able to skillfully translate data into concise summaries
  • Skilled time management: Whether it's something that requires a quick turnaround or a long-term commitment, able to take full responsibility from start to finish. Able to manager multiple tasks simultaneously within agreed timeframes
  • Strong communicator: Able to help the team deliver potentially complex information to a variety of audiences in a credible way through discussion, written reports and presentations.
  • Relationship management: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships across the team.
