Our client is currently looking for a Deployment Engineer (SCCM/Windows 10) for a Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade and deployment. This role sits with a large financial services and will be ongoing until the end of the year. This role requires previous Windows 10 deployment experience and good hands-on knowledge with Microsoft SCCM.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the technical execution to upgrade clients and migrate devices from Win7 to Win10
  • Prepare deployment list and identify anomalies
  • Monitor, identify and problem solve devices where issues present themselves with receiving the Windows 10 upgrade, i.e. trouble shoot devices not connecting, to increase success rate
  • Enable and disable power plan as required and execute technical scripts as part of the Win7 - Win10 upgrade process.
  • Develop technical remediation scripts used to migrate clients/devices as required, to improve deployment experience and reduce error rate
  • Update build with hardware driver packs not already included as part of the standard build
  • Update ICT Change Request with deployment numbers, issues or updates as required


Requirements:
  • Experience in maintaining a Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager Server Infrastructure
  • Experience of supporting a variety of Windows client and server operating systems
  • Previous MOE deployment experience (greater than 1000 desktops) with Windows 7/8/10 and System Centre Configuration Manager.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Familiarity with Operating System deployment technologies, including Microsoft Deployment Technologies (MDT), Windows Deployment Services (WDS) & User State Migration Tool (USMT)
  • Fundamental networking knowledge - Internet Protocol (IP), Dynamic Naming Service (DNS), Windows Internet Name Service (WINS), IP routing, Network Address Translation (NAT) etc.
  • Knowledge of monitoring alerting, logging and status messages, particularly in regards to ConfigMgr server and client
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Windows Server and Desktop operating systems. Experience with tools such as Wireshark and process monitor preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
